Dell and his flying cars....

From Dell Schanze's Blog:
"Why are you soooo 2 dimensional? Why is a flying car not practical? Did you watch the videos? Can you walk? Can you drive a car? It is waaay easier to fly than it is the drive a car. With a car you have to stay in your lane, learn all the signs and watch for traffic. There are no signs in the sky. No traffic either. Far safer and more practical than driving. It is just silly to be driving all over the place. People are so ridiculously silly some even freak out and fear for their lives when they see an 8 lb cloth paraglider flying 20 mph. This while they drive their 8000 lb vehicle past other vehicles 5 ft away from them at closing speeds above 130mph. Yes flying is extremely practical. You can fly to Las Vegas in a couple hours for about $22. Driving costs far more.

Of course there are many many many other ways to do it as well. For half a billion dollars I'm sure we can come up with many many ways to improve travel efficiency."

Okay, first off, where are we all going to buy these flying cars? Yup, that's right, the tax cheat himself, Dell Schanze. Wow, any bias here?? LOL Secondly, he screams there isn't any traffic, there will be if everyone is flying, who is going to police and ensure safety with increased air traffic, and with so many people "flying" cars, is it going to interfere with regular air traffic? The logistics behind Dell's plan is not only not doable, it's utterly insane, but that just stands to figure, since the man himself is a nut job.

  1. Dell's paraglider flies 20 MPH according to his claim for safety, but it can fly from Saratoga Springs to Las Vegas in "a couple of hours"? Vegas is more than 300 miles away. That's 150+ MPH. Also, he claims to be able to cross Utah Lake in 8 minutes. The nearest shore from his house is 5.5 miles away. That requires a minimum speed of 41 MPH. I guess math wasn't his best subject in school.

  2. I find it humorous when he claims that flying is more practical. What happens when there is more than a mild breeze, or if there is lightning, rain or snow? Guess what, you have to go with plan B - A car. Most people I know can't afford to blow $14k on a vehicle that can only operate during the perfect conditions AND a car at the same time.

  3. Well, Dell has never been known for his sound logic. I suspect he imagines the skies will look like they do in Coruscant City, which would make sense since he is a Star Wars freak in addition to living in a fantasy world.

What he fails to realize is that his thrill-seeking toys are useable in very limited conditions, both meteorologically and logistically. Plus he hasn't considered (nor does he ever) that not everyone thinks the same way or likes the same things he does. But that is merely an extension of his failure to grasp reality under any circumstances.

  4. Funny thing about Dell's opposition to half a billion of taxes going to pay for a bridge - It's going to be a privately funded toll bridge.

    Kneejerk much, Doofy Dell?
